The First Prayer at the Final Choral Evensong of the Summer Term.
This evening as the light begins to fade, let us give thanks for a rare sunny day, for the coming season of holiday, rest and recuperation. On our last occasion of Choral Evensong this term let us give thanks for the skills of composer, organist and choir.
Almighty God, who has given us power to invent for ourselves instruments of music and the skills to use them, in sounding forth your praise; grant that the music heard in this house may kindle a spirit of devotion in us, your servants. That we, taking our part in prayer and praise, may each in our time join with the everlasting songs of the Angelic host in your Heavenly city. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Amen.
YEA, AMEN!
Hope to see you all in September.
